Veteran Services – Independent Medical Opinions & Nexus Letters
April B Johnson, PLLC

What services do you provide?

I provide independent medical opinions (IMOs), nexus letters, secondary service connection/aggravation opinions, and medical record reviews for evidentiary purposes related to VA disability claims.

Are you affiliated with the VA or providing a C&P exam?

No. These services are not affiliated with the VA and are not Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations. All opinions are independent and evidentiary only.

Do you guarantee claim approval or a specific VA rating?

No. VA claim outcomes and disability ratings are determined solely by the Department of Veterans Affairs and are not guaranteed.

How does the process work?

  1. Submit a secure intake request

  2. Your request undergoes initial screening

  3. If approved, you receive secure upload instructions

  4. Records are reviewed

  5. Service options and flat fees are disclosed after review and prior to initiation of any services

Do you review my records before telling me the fee?

Yes. Fees are disclosed after review, as pricing depends on medical complexity, record volume, and scope. No services are initiated until fees are accepted.

Do you offer phone or Zoom consultations?

Limited Zoom consultations are available by request. Consultations are optional, provided for informational purposes only, and do not guarantee that a nexus letter or medical opinion will be provided. Fees are disclosed prior to scheduling.

Does this create a patient–provider relationship?

No. Veteran services are limited to independent medical opinions and record reviews and do not include medical treatment, prescriptions, or ongoing care.

What conditions do you commonly review?

Conditions commonly reviewed include primary care and musculoskeletal conditions as well as complex rheumatologic and chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and autoimmune disorders, when medically appropriate and supported by the record.

Important Notice: Independent medical opinion services are evidentiary in nature only. VA claim outcomes are not guaranteed.
